Facilitates the insertion of special characters
AllChars is an amplification of the character table which you use to insert special
characters like Á á À à into any application. The character
table (Char table) opens with a click on the tray icon. After clicking on a character you
will find one or two key combinations that are used to insert the special character into
a certain application. Therefore press the release key Ctrl (left), let it loose again
and then press buttons like cr, which result in the ©-character. In the context menu
(right mouse button) of the table you have to activate "Text line". Now, an input field
appears displaying the respective character of the preset typeface after each keystroke.
In the tray icon context menu you will find a list of the predefined macros. They can be
edited, deleted or amplified. As an example for a macro put in three w-characters under
"name" and a certain internet address under "text". As soon as you will write /www in an
application, these characters will be replaced by the entered internet address. Ctrl as
the release key and / as the start sign for macros can be modified in the program
settings.
Argumentative - because good reasoning needs to be prepared
Argumentative - because good reasoning needs to be prepared. The program represents
arguments in a graphical tree structure. The hierarchical composition starts with a
thesis. Underneath you will find "Reason" and "Objection". Each argument can be confirmed
by another one, a so-called "Helper". The structure still remains clearly arranged - even
with several represented arguments - because of the differentiated coloring. In order to
modify a certain text, just click on the graphic and replace it in the input field. You
can add an additional commentary to each thesis ("Edit "- " Properties"). Argumentative
is not only able to print the representation but also to export it to Word or Powerpoint.
In case the program does not start, you will need Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher.
Desktop calendar with to-do-list and address book
A multi-user capable desktop calendar with to-do-list and address book. Single modules
like the address book can be opened directly by using the tray icon. BORG Calendar allows
the setup of categories, which could be assigned, for instance, to different users or
separate private from business appointments. Also it is possible to open the program
repeatedly by using the same data bank. The program reminds you of your appointments by
the pop-up window as well as by an acoustical sign. Having activated the corresponding
function you will be reminded of an appointment by an e-mail, too. Further features are
the print-out of all data of a month and a search function. Besides of creating a local
data bank it is also possible to set up MySQL-, HSQLDB- and JDBC data banks. The run of
this program presumes
the Java Runtime Environment
1.6 or higher.
A multimedia three-dimensional space-simulation
Celestia is a multimedia three dimensional space-simulation. It offers you the opportunity to observe a
celestial body of your choice within spitting distance and to realize the starry sky close to it. You can
choose between two kinds of targets: objects of our solar system and stars. You are aboard an imaginary
spaceship. By selecting a celestial body, the perspective is rotated and the new target is approached at
high speed. Celestial bodies can be selected from a list or from the space view. Object-specific data like
radius, interspace, surface-temperature etc. can be displayed optionally. The surfaces of the celestial
bodies are represented by textures. If you have selected an object of the solar system, you can choose either
a synchronic or a static orbit and so join the planet or the moon on its tour. Also, for each planet that has
moons, eclipses can be calculated and represented respectively, for instance, from a space view. There is a
data bank with three-dimensional coordinates. For objects outside of our solar system, there is a data bank
with three-dimensional coordinates at your disposal which contains all stars up to the 10th size range. It
is especially worth mentioning that this software is arranged modularly i.e. each celestial object is stored
in a separate file. So, other celestial bodies can be added without any problem.
Copes with the conversion of more than 500 units
If you need to handle categories like distance, temperature, weight, volume and speed,
you will have to do with countless units. Hence, tools like ConvertAll are very useful
because it copes with the conversion of more than 500 units. You enter both units in the
fields "From Unit" and "To Unit" respectively. While entering the data, the unit list
already displays the equivalence. In the lower input field you have to enter the digit
which will be converted into real-time. The units can be combined by multiplication,
division and potentiation. For example, you are driving by 30 Kilometers per hour. You
want to find out, how many Meters you have covered in each minute. So you have to enter
at the left (From Unit) "kilometer / hr and at the right "meter / min" as well as left
hand down the digit "30". Right hand down the result is displayed: 500 meters. The unit
finder lists up all units containing your search key.
Converts countless currencies
Currency converter converts currencies including some exotic ones like Bhutan Ngultrum,
Burundi Franc or Hondurian Lempiras. Of course, there are the well-known currencies like
the Euro, the Turkish Lira, the US-Dollar and the Swiss Franc etc. Certain combinations
can be defined as standard (Preferred), for example Euro converted into Swiss Francs. The
world area with its pop-up menu is more flexible. Cross Rates allows the selection of
four currencies, each of which the value 1 is converted for, and that crosswise. All
results can be copied into the clipboard or exported to Excel (XLS), CSV or Javascript.
In the Settings in the Internet Settings you can activate an automatic currency-rate
up-date. In the rates area you are free to add further currencies from the databank to
the program.
Archives your books, software, etc. audio CDs
Follow the slogan "Cleanliness is next to godliness" and archive your books, software,
Audio CDs, music files, film collections and contact addresses. How to transfer, for
instance, the data of an audio-CD? Mark the module Audio CDs and click on Item Wizard.
Enter a keyword, for example a pseudonym. This keyword will be used for scanning online
data banks like Amazon. Mark the selected album, and click on Open. Now, you will receive
a survey of all data that have been found and can be modified or completed as you like.
In the rating area you may impart from 1 up to 10 stars to an entry. When searching for
books (Amazon) and film titles (Amazon) Data Crow also accesses online data banks. The
search function only scans the data of the active module! The tool compiles reports of
the stored entries, which are transferred to a HTML- or a PDF file. If the set-up program
does not start, you will need additionally
the Java Runtime Environment
1.6 or higher.
Management of smaller projects
Ganttproject offers a management of smaller projects which one or several persons may be
in charge of. Who wants to manage projects successfully has to take into account many
different aspects. One of these aspects is the time scheduling and the assignment of the
respective resources. Whenever you need a time schedule oriented representation, like
manpower planning and resource planning, bar charts as those realized by Ganttproject are
an indispensable help. Diverse project tasks are structured hierarchically and linked
with human resources and time-limits. Your data will result in a bar chart which shows up
all your project tasks with their time connections and the respective degree of
performance. In the Resources menu you introduce all persons who take part in the project.
Then you can assign a certain task to one of these people, set the priority of this task
and define the space of time to accomplish it. The export function allows you to store
the data as PDF, as CSV file for Excel or as HTML file to be published in the internet.

Allows the electronic archiving of your genealogy
You have always wanted to archive your genealogy electronically? GenealogyJ provides you
all tools you may need for it. It permits a comfortable processing of data in the
Gedcom-format including sophisticated visualizations and possibilities of amplification.
Gedcom is, as is well-known, a standard for the ex-change of genealogical information in
the electronic way. The best survey of your ancestral gallery you will obtain by a
genealogical tree. You choose a reference person, to whom all ancestors and descendants
will be represented. Single branches and twigs can be faded in or out. You can decide if
you want a few, many or all characteristics of a person to be displayed, also photos or
the URL for further information. The program includes samples for the design of frames
for individuals or families. You can produce the data display yourself with HTML-codes
and at the same time you can include your own type faces and sizes, colors and symbols.
Besides of the genealogical tree, there is a time-bar view which shows up all
characteristics of a person, that is represented with a calendar date. If you want to
modify the data, call up the Edit-View which shows up the person or family you have
clicked on in the tree, in the time-bar or in the chart. It is also here, where you have
to introduce the data about a new ancestor and embed these data into the ancestor system.
Many reports are at your disposal to analyze the data. This includes a
four-generation-representation for any individual which can be printed with a
non-proportional typeface. It also includes the survey of all available time data for a
certain individual, the list of all descendants of an individual, etc. In addition to
that, all genealogical data can be exported to the HTML-format. The program presumes

Chart calculation with many mathematical functions
Gnumeric is a chart calculation coping with a great number of mathematical functions. The
producer of Gnumeric intended to offer an efficient and resource-saving alternative to
commercial products by the implementation of many useful mathematic functions. There are
almost 600 functions for calculating, namely all the functions we know of Microsoft Excel
and further nearly 200. In order to simplify the transition, Gnumeric is equipped with
the import functions for files in the excel format, for instance. Also, formats like XML,
HTML, Applix, Quattro Pro, PlanPerfect, Sylk, DIF, StarOffice and Lotus-123 are supported.
Its own format is based on XML which is compacted by gzip. In case you have already used
a chart calculation program before, you will easily get used to Gnumeric.
