What it does
Krita is built around digital painting, drawing and illustration but also includes image-composition and editing tools. Artists can work with layers, masks, brushes, assistants and graphics tablets, making it suitable for sketches through polished artwork.
Why we recommend it
We recommend Krita because its focus is different from a general photo editor. It gives illustrators and digital painters a workspace designed around brushes and creative drawing rather than forcing that workflow into a photo-centric application.

Things to consider
